Bell Flower

Some clematis varieties have interesting bell shaped flowers.

  • Fragrant nodding cream with pink dots flowers approximately 4-5cm in diameter produced on a vigorous vine growing to 4.75-7mt in size. Flowers late winter to spring. Pruning group 1. evergreen and a climber.
  • Deep purple nodding flowers approximately 4.5-5cm in diameter produced on a moderate vine growing to 1.2-1.8mt in size. Flowers late spring to autumn. Pruning group 3. deciduous and a herbaceous variety.
  • Small 5cm bell shaped pale blue flowers produced on a short non clinging plant growing to 1.5mt. Flowers summer to autumn.
  • Dark blue lantern-like flowers with long narrow blue inner petals are produced on a moderate, deciduous vine. Attractive seed heads follow. Flowers mainly in spring with some flowers at other times. Ht 3mt Pruning group 1.
  • Gorgeous, downward facing, golden bell blooms with protruding purple filaments. The flowers are 3-5cm across and open on abundance from late spring to autumn. The blooms are followed by cute, fluffy seed heads. Clematis 'Golden Tiara' flowers spring to autumn on the current seasons growth, so pruning is simple, just cut them back hard early spring, and they will soon shoot up with new growth.
